This insurance is designed to pick up portions or all of what Medicare leaves behind in deductibles and coinsurance. Between the two insurances, there isn’t much, if anything, for you to pay. You simply pay your premiums for having the insurances.

 

To cover more of the cost of services that Medicare doesn’t pay, you can buy Medicare supplement insurance. Because it helps cover some of the “gaps” in Medicare coverage, Medicare supplement insurance is often called Medigap insurance.
